Blog Entry16 Vials of BloodDec 24, '07 3:57 PM
for everyone

I broke the lab tech's record.  The largest amount she'd ever gathered for tests on one patient before was 13.  The vials were varying sizes, but she did a quick add-up and said it was about 90ML worth of the red stuff.  It was flowing pretty fast, so it didn't take eternity (which I feared). The vein just started giving up when the last vial was being filled, but she got it.  I've never given blood before, so that was the most ever taken out of me at one fell swoop.  She was good - I barely felt the needle going in, the vein moved and she got it back without too much trouble, and even changing the tubes wasn't bad.

Now it's going to take anywhere from 2 - 3 weeks for all the results to come back because the hospital sends some of them out.  The info should all be there in time for my next visit with the allergist.  Hopefully, he will have gotten all the information he needs and I won't have to do that again.  All I know now is that I can start taking the new antihistamines if I want.

It's Christmas Eve and I have no real baking done, but no one seems to care.  We have church in a couple of hours, then our traditional Christmas Eve gathering here.  I'll have time to whip up a batch of cookies before church - I hope.  We do have other foods that aren't junkie and some things that are, like chips & dip.  It'll be okay.  Plus, there's the big meal tomorrow.  My hope is that no one will mind missing the standard goodies.

Yesterday I had an awesome 1 hr 32 minutes of P90X yoga.  Tony Horton is releasing new P90X Masters Series DVDs, but I don't think there is a new yoga one amongst them.  I should start a letter writing campaign and beg him... I've given it to two of my daughters and we all agree, there is NO other yoga once you've done P90X.

Today:  13 minutes on the treadmill, 4.2 mph, 5% incline.  30 minutes of circuits.  22 minutes of HIIT on the Octane.

The Circuit
dumbbell squat 8/70
weighted stabilty ball crunch 15/25
Repeat for total of 3 sets
1:30 Sci-fit sprint
