My cholesterol...the numbers are positively stellar. Not that I've ever had a problem with it... but it's finally back exactly where I like it to be and where I feel best, thanks to getting my thyroid on track. (When my thyroid was really out of whack it was 169 and that freaked me out. It had never been higher than 135, even when I was pregnant). The results of last week's blood draw --- My total cholesterol is: 124 Yep, no kidding. My HDL is 59, my LDL is 52, and my triglycerides are only 98. And that was after forgetting to start fasting at 9pm. Ooops. :)
Armour Thyroid is wonderful, as is my doctor. After 3 months at 120 mg, my TSH is right where we like 0.60 and my free T3 and free T4 are absolutely lovely.
I did leave the doctor with a new presciption anyway... for an epi-pen. I 'fessed up to my daughter's allergist this morning about some unpleasant reactions to trail mix and chocolate covered cashews. He wanted me to keep one of my daughter's epi-pens around for me until I spoke to my doctor and got a referral to see him... It just so happened that my appointment was today, too. My doc had me explain my nasty situations, gave me a lecture on not calling 911, seeing him, etc, etc... and wrote me out a presciption for my own epi-pens. I have to stay away from cashews - and it my be in my best interest to stay away from other nuts, as well. I guess it's no surprise - I'm really sensitive to medications and pollens, what's another thing to avoid. :(
Rhianna is allergic to tree nuts and shellfish. We didn't quite understand the "when" of using the epi-pen, we do now. He also recommended EMS instead of driving to the emergency room. He said at the first sign, even slight of a reaction to something she eats, that we should use the epi-pen and call 911. He wasn't thrilled with the way the ER treated her shrimp-reaction visit there.

Today was extremely busy. I didn't get enough sleep, my own fault. I ended up getting to the gym with just enough time for a 50 minute full body circuit. Had to rush home, shower, get ready, go to one appointment, get the girls to the rink, eat lunch, check schoolwork, go to my appointment, get prescriptions. My daughter came over and I was able to head out with her to the graveyard for an hour long jog/racewalk. We were going to go do plyometrics at the playground but by then it was after 6pm. Dinner. Headed to Wal-mart to buy some art supplies. Tomorrow will be a crazy one, too. Saturday probably will be. Come to think of it, so will Sunday.
